AHS Review Specification (Review 02)


5. The nameplates shall not be painted over. Inscriptions and size shall be submitted to end user for approval before manufacture.

My duty: Not only for this package, whole package has the same status. I shall plan the submittal schedule and make whole vendors follow up.

6. All equipment and components contact with ash shall be abrasive resistant material unless otherwise specified.

My duty: This spec will impact a multitude of portion, especially for piping portion.

7. For DRS hoppers, each hopper shall have a minimum ash storage capacity of 12 hours of boiler operation at MCR.

My duty: It means that the capacity of air lock feeder’s control shall base on this design. This design condition shall remind equipment team to take care.

8. Each hopper shall be equipped with handwheel operated knife type isolating valve. The bodies and components which contact with ash of the valves shall be made of abrasive resistant material.

My duty: I shall remind vendor of using abrasive resistant material to meet this specification. Also, the handwheel operated knife type

9. The capacity shall exclude the time of transfer from one hopper discharge to the next in automatic operation, and shall mean the net capacity conveyed from the precipitator to the silo. The system shall be designed to permit either simultaneous operation of groups of hoppers, or operation of individual hoppers.

My duty: This requirement will deeply influence the P&ID (piping and instrument diagram). Vendor shall fix the P&ID and start purchasing separate equipment. However, the trick is that the concept of this control still under vendor’s design. We need to invite vendor’s American designer to the company to discuss and define this portion. Furthermore, the key word “permit” and “simultaneous” is a mist shall be clarified. If the designer can come to our office, I shall arrange a meeting to the consultant company for clarification.
